Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh Govt. Model HSS Boys, Udhampur

To glorify their courage, to celebrate their exceptional contribution and to honour their martyrdom a salutary practice was initiated by Govt to rename the govt assets in the name of martyrs who fought brave heartedly for the country and sacrificed their lives. It was a great honour and privilege that our institution Govt. Higher Secondary School Boys Udhampur was selected and on 12 December, 2021 it was rechristened as Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh Model Higher Secondary School Boys Udhampur to pay homage to the son of the soil 'Inspector Kamal Singh' of J&K Police, who attained martyrdom while countering the militant attack at SOG camp Babateng Pattan, District Baramulla o Kashmir on 12-03-2001, in which he fought relentlessly with the terrorists and recem serious bullet injuries. Without caring for his life, he showed great valour, kept fighting and neutralized a dreaded militant before attaining martyrdom. Martyr Inspector Kamal Singh (No. 2685/NGO) S/O Sh. Dhyan Singh was the residen Ward No. 11, Raghunath Pura, Udhampur. He was born on 26-09-1957 ang bonatide alumnus of this school up to class 10th (Admission number 6545, dt. 01-4-1972)
